We invite the submission of original abstracts for oral or poster presentation.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstract submission OPENS on 26 February 2026
Abstract submission CLOSES on 25 March 2026 at 23:59 (Central European Time, CET)

Abstract submission is free of charge.

All abstracts will undergo a blind peer review by an international panel of experts.
Authors will be notified of acceptance on 16 April 2026.

During submission, please indicate whether you wish to be considered for one of the Abstract Awards (Junior or Senior Investigator Award).

Submission Rules

A maximum of two (2) abstracts may be submitted as first author.

There is no limit to the number of abstracts in which you may appear as co-author.

Key Requirements

Registration Requirement
The first author must complete and pay the full congress registration fee to ensure inclusion of the abstract in the Scientific Programme and in the official eBook of Abstracts.

Substitution Policy
If the first author is unable to attend, a registered co-author may present the abstract.

Originality
Submitted work must be original and must not have been previously published or accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal or book.


All accepted abstracts will be published in the official USSIC 2026 Book of Abstracts.

Authors are free to choose between the formats of Oral Presentation or Conventional Poster when submitting an abstract in one of the sportive disciplinary fields represented in the scientific program. The committee will choose the type of communication to be assigned to the authors. 

Presentation Format

Authors may indicate their preferred presentation format (Oral Presentation or Poster) when submitting their abstract within one of the scientific areas represented in the Conference programme.

However, the Scientific Committee reserves the right to assign the final presentation format based on the review process and the overall programme structure.

Guidelines for authors

Please carefully follow the instructions below when preparing and submitting your abstract.

 

  1. Submission Format
    Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the online Abstract Submission Form.

  2. Length
    Abstracts are limited to 5,000 characters (including spaces and references, but excluding author names and affiliations).

  3. References
    The Vancouver reference style is required.

    • In-text citations must appear as bracketed numbers (e.g., [1]).

    • The reference list must be included at the end of the abstract.

    • References must be listed sequentially in the order they appear in the text (not alphabetically).

    • References count toward the 5,000-character limit.

  4. Content Requirements
    Abstracts must present original data and results. Statements such as “Data will be presented and discussed” are not acceptable.

  5. Scope
    Submissions must relate to sport, sports activities, physical activity, exercise, performance, health, or associated scientific disciplines represented in the Conference programme.

  6. Formatting Restrictions

    • Tables, figures, and graphs are not permitted.

    • Only ASCII characters may be used. Please ensure that no special formatting characters from word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) are included.

  7. Structure
    Abstracts must be structured using the following subheadings:
    Background – Objective/Aim – Methods – Results – Conclusion – References

  8. Responsibility
    Authors are solely responsible for the content and accuracy of their submission.

  9. Editing Policy
    Abstracts may be edited by the submitting author only until the submission deadline.

  10. Confirmation of Submission
    A confirmation email will be automatically sent upon successful submission.
